Who Do You Think This Is?
I usually enjoy a good mystery. But not so much when it comes to family photos that have been passed on to me without any identification.

This photo is of a young lady from Sweden. The costume looks to be one from the area of Rättvik.
One possibility is Kerstin Hansdotter, mother of Ole Sundin, who was born in 1853 in Boda. The photo is marked Ofvanmyra. Ovanmyra is a small town just south of Boda. Another possibility is Alma Sjöberg, mother of Hilda Anderson, who was born in 1868 in Folkärna. To compare, she is tentatively identified in the group photo below. Who do you think this is? |
Portion of a picture of what is possibly a 4th of July Picnic in Victoria, Michigan, around 1915. The two women holding the bucket or basket are probably Hilda (Anderson) Sundin on the right and her sister, Alma (Anderson) Lindberg, on the left. The older woman to the right of them with the arrow pointing at her is probably their mother, Alma (Sjoberg) Anderson. The children in front are Victor Wilfred "Bounce" on the left, Agnes Sundin in front of her Aunt Alma, and Frank Lindberg in front of his Aunt Hilda.

This gentleman was found in the pictures belonging to my maternal grandmother, Velma Lucille (Fitzwater) Bowman. The photo was in a folding paper frame (cardboard?) that indicated it was taken at Clark's, 905 Vine Street, Cincinnati.
Herbert R. Clark, Photographer, was located at 905 Vine in Cincinnati during the years 1907-1908, so this may help with the timeframe. There is a resemblance to Norwood Chapple "Jim" Bowman. Perhaps it is his grandfather, Jacob Victor Bowman? Jacob Victor was born in 1854, but this gentleman doesn't look to be 53 years old and J.V. was living in Pittsburgh during 1907-1908.
