Stella was born 16 Aug 1883 in Hillsboro, Hill County, Texas, the daughter of Alexander Isom and Eador J. “Ada” (Bankhead) Thompson. She had previously been married with a son from that marriage, William E. Thomas, born abt. 1902 in Oklahoma. Stella is listed in the Dawes Rolls as 1/8 Cherokee.
