Jean Dugan (nee Bowman), age 85, of Maineville, Ohio, beloved wife of Richard E. Dugan, mother of Jo Roth (Tom) and John Dugan, grandmother of Melody Roth, step-grandmother of Tommy Roth, sister of Richard Bowman (Lynnel), Canyonville, Oregon, Christine Rosendahl (Bruce), Clayton, Georgia, and Jeff Bowman (Pat), Batavia, Ohio, Monday, April 2, 2018. Preceded in death by her parents, Earl B. and Velma (Fitzwater) Bowman, and her younger brother Jim Bowman (Mary Kay).
Jean was a 1950 graduate of Mariemont High School and a 1955 graduate of the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, obtaining her Master of Education degree from U.C. in 1960. A woman of many careers and talents, she taught Music at Sycamore High School, was Director of Volunteers and later Gift Shop Manager at Bethesda North Hospital. In addition, she was an esteemed artist, a former member of the Women's Art Club, and owner of the Jean Dugan Gallery, running her own business selling her paintings, art supplies, and frames. Always an accomplished seamstress, Jean followed in the footsteps of her Great Grandmother, Willie Grace (Chapple) Bowman, taking up quilting, producing stunning quilts that are now cherished by family and friends. Jean's love of music continued her entire life; she twice served as Choir Director at Blue Ash Presbyterian Church and sang with several choral groups over the years including the Lebanon Symphony and Chorus, the Northern Kentucky Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and Musica Sacra in Cincinnati. She had great memories of singing in the Auxiliary Chorus for the Cincinnati Opera's performances of "Aida" and "Turandot," and singing in Germany with the group from Musica Sacra.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Musica Sacra Foundation, P.O. Box 43122, Cincinnati, Ohio 45243-0122 or online at http://musica-sacra.org/.

In addition, I have accumulated a great deal of images and information on our collateral lines (extended family outside of direct ancestors and their immediate families). Due to space limitations, much of that is not able to be included in this website. If you are related, think you might be, or just want to know more, I am happy to help.
