Regina "Rachel" Morand Luttmann
Regina "Rachel" Morand was the daughter of Joseph Morand and Regina Halter. She was born 25 Jan 1863 in Morning View, Kenton County, Kentucky, and is the twin of Terese Morand, who sadly did not survive.
The 1870 Census shows Rachel at age 7 living with her family in DeMossville, Pendleton County, Kentucky. In the 1880 Census, Rachel is age 17 and living with her older sister, Jennie, and Jennie's husband, John Hiltz. Rachel's mother had passed away in 1865 and her father had remarried that same year. Rachel works as a Seamstress. Rachel married Frank Luttmann, son of Johan Heinrich and Mary Anna Apmann, in 1887. She and Frank had seven children, all of whom were born in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. The 1900 Census shows Rachel at age 37 living at 835 Main Street in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky, with her husband and children. It indicates she has been married 12 years (it is not uncommon for this to be off a little), has had five children, and five of those are living. The 1910 Census shows Rachel at age 47 living at 1424 Banklick Street in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky, with her husband and children. It indicates she has been married 23 years and has had seven children, and seven of those are living. The 1920 Census shows Rachel at age 56 living at 1514 Woodburn Avenue in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky, with her husband and children. Her daughter, Josephine, has married Robert Roth, and they are also living with Frank and Rachel. Regina lost her husband, Frank, in 1921 and died the following year on 23 May 1922 of Shock Following a Gall Bladder Operation and Chronic Cholecystitis. Chronic Cholecystitis is a prolonged inflammatory condition that affects the gall bladder. She is buried beside Frank Henry in Mother of God Cemetery.

I have included these photos here to give you the opportunity to view them side-by-side. While many have attached the photo on the right to Frank Sr., it may actually be of Frank Jr., perhaps with his younger brother, John Walter Luttmann. It would appear that the gentleman on the right does have some family resemblance to Regina Morand Luttmann, pictured at left. Any input or further information is welcome!
