Jacob Bowman was born 6 May 1798 in Pennsylvania to parents Henry Bowman and Mary Susann Luber.
Jacob was among the early settlers of the area now known as Cincinnati and has one of the earliest marriages recorded there. He was married to Phoebe Prior 15 Feb 1816. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Joshua L. Wilson (Wilson, Joshua Lacey, Minister of the Gospel 1774-1846). Jacob died 15 Apr 1826 at the age of 28 and was buried in the Methodist Protestant Cemetery. He was moved to the Bowman Family Lot in Spring Grove Cemetery 15 Apr 1857. |
