William W. Bowman was born 23 Jun 1821 to parents Jacob and Phoebe (Prior) Bowman. Most of his life was spent working as a General Painter of Houses, according to the census records.
Maria Grayson was born around 1826 in Ohio. Little is known about her except that she and William W. were married 30 Nov 1847 in Cincinnati and she died sometime after the birth of Jacob Victor in 1854 and before the 1860 Census. Her burial location is unknown. William W. and Maria had another child, a daughter who is called Julia in the _____ Census and listed as Inez in the _____ Census. It is unknown what happened to her. 
Following the death of Maria, William W. married Phoebe E. Cross, who was born in Nov 1838 in New York, the daughter of Perley and Amy Cross. Phoebe died of cholera 16 Sep 1866 in Cincinnati and is buried in Spring Grove Cemetery.
After losing Phoebe, William W. married Christine Sanzenbacher 3 Feb 1867 in Cincinnati. They had a daughter Alice in Dec 1869, and a son, James, in 1874. Christine died 5 Sep 1876 and is buried in the Bowman Family Lot (Sec. 99, Lot 58), in Spring Grove Cemetery. She has no grave marker. It appears that William W. married one last time, to Mary E. Greer. They had a daughter, Martha, born 6 Sep 1878. Martha married Elmer E. Elwood 7 Sep 1899 in Hamilton County, Ohio, but it appears to have ended rather quickly. By the 1910 Census, she is listed as the wife of George D. Bartholomew, although they were not officially married until 24 Jul 1917 in Bartholomew County, Indiana. George remarries in Jun 1927 and it is uknown if he and Martha divorced or if she died prior to this. |

William W. Bowman died 24 Mar 1883 in Cincinnati at the age of 61. He is buried in the Bowman Family Lot in Spring Grove Cemetery, but has no grave maker.
